Ruta Legacy Safaris was born from a simple idea: that every traveller deserves more than a standard tour. They deserve a journey that feels personal, meaningful and truly connected to the places they visit.
Founded by Charles George Ruta, a Tanzanian born and raised in the country’s safari heartland, the company grew from years of hands-on experience in tourism, wildlife, mountain trekking and coastal travel.
Charles saw how many visitors arrived in Tanzania with high expectations but left without fully experiencing the depth, beauty and warmth of the country. He wanted to change that — by creating journeys designed around real people, real interests and real moments.
That vision became Ruta Legacy Safaris: a company where every itinerary is crafted with care, local insight and a genuine desire to make each journey unforgettable.
